New and Improved CFSC Summer Internship Program

Last year, CFSC revised its Young Friend Internship in response to
results from an evaluation to make it more accessible and of greater
benefit.

This summer, CFSC is offering a four-month internship to coincide with
the university year (May 1 – August 31). Interns receive a living
allowance of $850/month. CFSC will try to secure a billet
(accommodation) with a Quaker family but this cannot be guaranteed.
The summer internship includes attending Canadian Yearly Meeting
sessions (in August, near Ottawa).

Winter 2009 Sporadical Issue! Check it out!

Dear Friends,

In November 2008, Young Friends and Young Adult Friends in Canada were challenged to report about their efforts of building bridges between different branches of Friends around the world.

The request to hear about the experiences of YF/YAFs in Canada as they encounter Quakers around the world, directly tied into my hope for this issue of the Sporadical, for I knew we as Young Friends has stories to tell about our friends whose forms of Quakerism may differ from those we grew up with.

Ottawa Monthly Meeting Resident Friend position

I am writing to ask you to consider if you have any good candidates to
recommend for the Resident Friend opening at Ottawa Monthly Meeting.

Do you know of any young Friends in your meeting who might be attending
university in Ottawa over the next few years? Do you know of any people who
might be accepting work assignments here in the September 2007-2008 time
period?

If so, please forward our attached ad to them and encourage them to apply in
writing to Peter Twidale. Our deadline for applications is June 1, 2007.

In the spring, and again in the fall, Friends and  attenders of Hamilton, Toronto, Simcoe-Muskoka and Yonge Street Meetings get together to do a little Quaker business,  and to share concerns and fellowship. The spring Half-Yearly Meeting, held at Camp NeeKauNis, is a wonderful opportunity to see spring opening up in the woods, tramp around, dip your toes in cold water on a visit to the lake, spend time with new and old friends, and participate in the great children's programs.
